It was one of the busiest nights of the week for minor league hockey as the American Hockey League (AHL) brought a full slate of exciting action to the ice tonight.

The Rochester Americans netted six goals in the third period to hand the Utica Comets their eighth straight loss while improving to 4-3 on the season. The game was a wild one, featuring a whopping 19 penalties. Utica accumulated 53 total minutes on their 13 penalties, including two game misconducts, that gave Rochester plenty of power play opportunities.

With only three minutes left in the first period, the Charlotte Checkers were trailing 1-0 to the Bridgeport Islanders. After they got one on the board with a little time left in the first, they got back on the ice for the second, and simply didn't look back.

The Toronto Marlies have had a hot start to the season, starting 5-0, but their perfect start to the season really looked like it would come to a close earlier tonight.

Chicago Blackhawk fans have been excited about their future, including star talent Frank Nazar, who has shone early in the season at the AHL level for the Rockford IceHogs.
