With only three minutes left in the first period, the Charlotte Checkers were trailing 1-0 to the Bridgeport Islanders. After they got one on the board with a little time left in the first, they got back on the ice for the second, and simply didn't look back. 

The Checkers fired off six straight unanswered goals within the second period, ending the night with a dominating 8-2 win. Numerous players produced big time for the Checkers as they were able to light a fire the Islanders were simply unable to put out.

They cooled off in the third period, but the damage was done. Bridgeport was able to net one more, but the Checkers walked away unscathed with a huge performance in the second period.
