One of the best prospect events of the entire calendar year is about to kick off this week in Plymouth, Michigan as dozens of high-end future NHL talent will participate in the World Junior Summer Showcase.

The event, which is an evaluation camp for the 2025 World Junior Championship roster selection, will feature a number of games involving players from the United States, Sweden, Finland and, for the first time in years, Canada.

USA will have 46 players in their camp split between two rosters, Sweden has 26 players coming over, while Finland has 25. All three of those teams will spend the bulk of their time at USA Hockey Arena. Canada has invited 41 players to its camp, which will be held primarily in Windsor, Ontario. The Canadians will play a split-squad game on July 30 and a consolidated roster will play Sweden the next night before they hop the border for a pair of games in Plymouth culminating with a showdown vs. Team USA on Aug. 3.

The vast majority of players participating in this event are drafted or will be drafted including two of the very top prospects for the 2025 NHL Draft, James Hagens of the United States and Porter Martone of Canada.
