OTTAWA – The 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship is among the most memorable I’ve covered. The storylines were incredible, the results sometimes shocking and we were introduced to so many personalities over the course of the tournament that hockey fans will remember for a long time.

OTTAWA – For the first time in the modern format of the World Junior Championship, Canada failed to reach the semifinal for the second consecutive year. You have to go back to 1978-80 to find the last time Canada didn’t even have a chance to play for third place in the event.

Canada is looking to make the most of home ice as they play host to the rest of the world in Ottawa at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship. The home team will be among the favorites, looking to improve on a disappointing quarterfinal exit in 2024.

Once a semi-annual tradition, the New Year’s Eve showdown between these two teams is back for the first time since 2016.

Despite this tournament dating back 49 years, the U.S. has only been competitive for the last half of that, but that competitiveness has provided iconic moments for both countries.

But when you're Canada at the World Juniors, especially after losing to Latvia for the first time in World Juniors history, the questions are coming. Canada didn’t really reassure its fans very much in a 3-0 win over Germany Sunday that saw the scoreline read 1-0 with five minutes remaining in regulation.

When a roster gets picked for the World Juniors or any tournament, you don’t really get the chance to know what it’s going to truly look like until you see what the staff has in mind for how the lineup could look. Canada had its first full team practice Sunday after its final roster was named Friday night and had all 25 players on the ice once again Monday morning.

Canada has its roster for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship. Four returning players will be looking to improve on a disappointing quarterfinal finish from last year’s event as they take to home ice in Sweden. They’ll get some help from a trio of highly-regarded prospects yet to be drafted including No. 1 candidates in 2025, Matthew Schaefer and Porter Martone, and the consensus No. 1 pick for 2026, Gavin McKenna.

Canada’s roster for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship is starting to come into focus now that we’ve seen Hockey Canada’s selection camp roster. Thirty two players were invited to Canada's camp which will open Dec. 10 in Ottawa.

OSHAWA, Ontario – Team CHL scored in the opening minute and final minute of regulation to earn a 3-2 win and the sweep of Team USA in the inaugural CHL USA Prospects Challenge. Cole Reschny scored with 1:12 to play in regulation to seal the victory and the sweep, sending the partisan crowd home happy.

LONDON, Ontario – In the first meeting between Team CHL and the U.S. National Under-18 Team, the Canadian junior side won comfortably, 6-1.
