Welcome to FloHockey's weekly power rankings for men's NCAA hockey. Find out which teams across the country rise, fall or stay put as the weekly series unfold in the 2022-2023 season.

1. Quinnipiac | Last Ranking 2

Record: 18-1-3

When you get to the middle of January and there's only one loss on your ledger, something special is going on. The Bobcats are No. 1 in both national polls and just behind Minnesota in the Pairwise. They're on track for a No. 1 seed at the NCAA tournament, but will face a tough road test this weekend with games at ranked Cornell and Colgate. The Bobcats are one of the most complete teams in the country and have the experience to keep this momentum rolling.

2. Minnesota | Last Ranking: 1

Record: 17-6-1

Another thrilling weekend with some late drama, the Gophers had a shootout loss and win against Notre Dame in Big Ten play. The Irish have been tough to play against this year, but Minnesota found a way to end the weekend on a high with a 3-0 win. It was a lower-scoring weekend for Minnesota, but they remain one of five teams in the country scoring at a pace of 3.9 goals per game or higher.

3. Denver | Last Ranking: 4

Record: 19-5-0

The Pioneers rolled to a 14-0 weekend against Miami last weekend. Two 7-0 wins against the last-place team in the conference doesn't move the needle a ton, but there is a massive showdown coming this weekend. DU will head to St. Cloud State for a top-five battle with the Huskies in what should be a critical game in the NCHC standings race.

4. St. Cloud State | Last Ranking: 3

Record: 16-6-0

The Huskies will enter that big weekend against Denver after splitting their last series at home against Colorado College. It was a small stumble for SCSU, but they have a chance to make a big statement as the Pioneers roll into town. In the last meeting between the two teams in Denver, both games were decided by one goal including one in overtime in a weekend split back in early November.

5. Boston University | Last Ranking: 6

Record: 15-6-0

The Terriers had a big week, knocking off UMass and a ranked Cornell squad to keep things pointing in an upward direction under first-year head coach Jay Pandolfo. The Terriers will host Maine this week before the Battle of Comm Ave. at the end of January. A lot of things are going well for BU right now, but freshman defenseman Lane Hutson (MTL) has points in all four games since he returned from the World Juniors and is second on the team in scoring with 22 points through 20 games.

6. Penn State | Last Ranking: 5

Record: 17-6-1

The Nittany Lions had their first winless weekend of the season on the road at Michigan State last week, with both a regulation loss and a shootout loss that goes down as a tie in the national records. Penn State is back on home ice this weekend against Notre Dame with a chance to bounce back and pick up some meaningful conference points.

7. Harvard | Last Ranking: 7

Record: 12-4-1

The Crimson picked up a pair of wins last weekend, outscoring Clarkson and St. Lawrence by a combined scored of 9-1. Harvard got a boost with the return of John Farinacci to the lineup after he missed the first half of the season. The Arizona Coyotes pick had four points in his first weekend back in action. His return makes a high-scoring offense more potent.

8. Michigan | Last Ranking: 9

Record: 13-8-1

The Wolverines took one on the chin from rival Ohio State on Friday, but responded with a 4-2 win the next night. Now they've got a massive Big Ten series on the road at Minnesota. This is a big-time prove-it weekend for the young Wolverines that played last weekend after a lengthy layoff during winter break. Neither team should have much trouble getting up for that one.

9. Ohio State | Last Ranking: 13

Record: 15-8-1

The Buckeyes waltzed into Ann Arbor and hung seven goals on the Wolverines on a staggering 52 shots on net in their Friday night win. Though they lost Saturday, Ohio State had won its previous six games as they are well back on track from a mini-November swoon. They're getting hot at the right time of the season and will travel to ailing Wisconsin for another Big Ten series this weekend.

10. Western Michigan | Last Ranking: 10

Record: 14-9-1

A wild sweep of North Dakota over the weekend has the Broncos on a four-game winning streak. The nation's most potent offense is having no trouble scoring as the only team with three players with 30 or more points including Jason Polin, who is the NCAA leader in goals with 21. Goaltending has been an issue for Western this year, but it seems like they can outscore some of those concerns as they showed in a 7-6 win last Saturday at North Dakota.

11. Merrimack | Last Ranking: 8

Record: 15-7-1

A win last Saturday over Providence halted a four-game winless streak for the Warriors. Now we'll have to see if that gets them back on track. Merrimack has a big home-and-home series against Northeastern this week. Seven of the team's remaining 11 games in the regular season are on the road, so Merrimack will be tested a lot these next few weeks.

12. Cornell | Last Ranking: 14

Record: 10-6-1

The Big Red played a tight game on the road at Boston University, but ultimately took the loss after winning their previous five games. Cornell faces a pretty significant weekend as No. 1 Quinnipiac rolls into Ithaca Friday night, but also have one of the nation's stingiest defenses. The Big Red have allowed an NCAA-low 21.4 shots against per game.

13. Michigan Tech | Last Ranking: 11

Record: 15-7-3

Michigan Tech had a very surprising split at home against St. Thomas, which had struggled mightily against ranked opponents before beating the Huskies Saturday. It was definitely a stumble for a team that has otherwise been on a nice little roll of late, having won their previous four straight games. Senior goalie Blake Pietila continues to be a difference-maker in net with a .924 save percentage with wins in 14 of his 23 appearances.

14. Minnesota State | Last Ranking: 16

Record: 14-9-1

Picking up a couple of big non-conference wins on the road against Arizona State has the Mavericks on a four-game road winning streak. Minnesota State is back home this weekend for a CCHA series against last-place Lake Superior State with a golden opportunity to keep things rolling.

15. UConn | Last Ranking: 12

Record: 13-7-3

Is the bloom off the rose for the Huskies? Getting swept in a series against Northeastern that included an outdoor game at Fenway Park makes it four consecutive losses against Hockey East foes -- though the Fenway game counts as a non-conference result. They also have just four wins in their last 11 games.

16. Michigan State | Last Ranking: NR

Record: 13-11-2

After getting swept by Ohio State two weeks ago, the Spartans are back in the mix after going unbeaten in a home series against Penn State which launched them into a three-way tie for second place in the Big Ten. Michigan State will be idle this weekend before traveling to Minnesota for a massive series against the Gophers to close out January.

Dropped Out: Providence
