The NHL Draft is a week away and the craziness of the buildup is well underway. Predicting the first round is always difficult, because so much information flies around and it's hard to separate fact from fiction. With smokescreens, misdirection and other sorts of gamesmanship afoot, one can never be too sure.

The 2025 NHL Draft is almost here and it has been one of the trickiest years to both predict and to project out players in. The class itself is not the most exciting top to bottom, but there is plenty of value to be mined out of this class. The work put in by scouts will only be more important in a season like this where that talent thins out a bit quicker than normal and teams have to dissect players even further to make their critical draft-day decisions.

FRISCO, Texas – There aren’t many firsts for Canada’s national hockey team, but we saw one Saturday night. For the first time in the history of the IIHF Men’s Under-18 World Championship, Canada has won back-to-back gold medals.

Before the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship has even begun, Canada’s had to shift its roster, particularly on the blue line. Hockey Canada announced Saturday that defensemen Ty Nelson and Jorian Donovan have been named to the team’s roster as previously-announced defensemen Tanner Molendyk (NSH) and Tristan Luneau (ANA) will not be able to participate for medical reasons.
