Free Streams For 2024 USHL Fall Classic
The following five games will stream live and free from the 2024 DICK'S Sporting Goods USHL Fall Classic.
All times Eastern
Sept. 18: Tri City Storm vs. Youngstown Phantoms, 6 p.m.
The North American junior debut of Adam Benák will be one of the main attractions for the Fall Classic opener. The Czech phenom had nine points in three preseason games for the Phantoms after setting the career scoring record at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in the summer. The 5-foot-7 forward has strong NHL Draft prospects despite his size. Tri-City, meanwhile, will be debuting new coach Mark Abalan and highly-regarded rookie Ilya Morozov.
Sept. 19: Des Moines Buccaneers vs. Green Bay Gamblers, 2:15 p.m.
The Buccaneers are looking for a bounce-back season led by 2025 NHL Draft-eligible Ben Kevan who had 57 points in 59 games as a rookie. The Arizona State commit will attract a lot of attention from scouts this season after the impressive rookie numbers. Meanwhile, this game will also represent the coaching debut of Green Bay’s Pat McCadden, who is the first player to lead the Gamblers after previously playing for the club. He captained the team to a Clark Cup under head coach Jon Cooper.
Sept. 20 Cedar Rapids RoughRiders vs. Omaha Lancers, 5:15 p.m.
This game will feature one of the USHL’s newest coaches against the USHL’s longest-tenured coach Mark Carlson. Lennie Childs, who takes over the Omaha bench this year, is making history as the USHL’s first Black head coach. The Lancers will also have one of the highest-drafted players in the USHL this season as goaltender Mikhail Yegorov returns after being picked 49th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2024 NHL Draft.
Sept. 21 Fargo Force vs. Muskegon Lumberjacks, 2 p.m.
The defending champion Fargo Force return with a largely new roster, but coach Brett Skinner is back for another round. Muskegon is largely in the same boat in terms of new players on their roster after seeing two players get selected in the first round of last year’s NHL Draft – Sacha Boisvert and Matvei Gridin. Though both are gone, the Jacks have a pair of exciting 16-year-old rookies in Tynan Lawrence and Rudolfs Berzkalns.
Sept. 22 – USA Hockey NTDP U18s vs. Waterloo Black Hawks, 2 p.m.
The scouts are always paying extra close attention when the NTDP is on the ice as the U.S. U18 Team will often have the highest concentration of draft-eligible talent. That will be no different this year as Will Moore could be a high first-round pick, with a host of others slated to be selected in the 2025 NHL Draft. Waterloo, meanwhile, is led by a rising star in the coaching industry, former NHLer Matt Smaby.
