The 2024 NHL Draft is now just weeks away and after more than a year of tracking the class with many live and video viewings, it’s time for FloHockey’s final Top 100 rankings compiled by veteran NHL Draft analyst Chris Peters.

To the surprise of no one, Macklin Celebrini is the clear-cut No. 1 prospect. He’s been at the top since probably before last season and has never wavered. He’s No. 1 on our list, too, with the opportunity in front of him to help shape the next decade plus for the San Jose Sharks, who hold the No. 1 pick.

What happens after Celebrini is selected is still the source of much debate as there isn’t a clear-cut No. 2 pick, at least not as far as you’ll see in public rankings. The intrigue will start at No. 2 and probably won’t stop until the final pick is called in Las Vegas on Day 2 on June 29.

Who Is The No. 1 Prospect For The NHL Draft In 2024?

Macklin Celebrini is the consensus No. 1 prospect for 2024. He is expected to be selected first overall by the San Jose Sharks, who have the No. 1 pick this year. 

Celebrini was one of the top scorers in college hockey and became the youngest ever winner of the Hobey Baker Memorial Award as the best men’s player in the NCAA. He played junior hockey for the Chicago Steel and spent two years at the same prep school that reared No. 1 picks Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon, among others, Shattuck-St. Mary’s.

Celebrini is a native of Vancouver, but also spent part of his youth in the San Francisco Bay Area as his father Rick works with the Golden State Warriors in the NBA.
