ESPOO, Finland – USA vs. Canada. No matter the level, no matter the stage, if there is ice involved, it does not get better than that.
May 4
ESPOO, Finland – Gavin McKenna isn’t NHL Draft-eligible until 2026, and Porter Martone won't be drafted until 2025, but they’ve already laid waste to a record previously held by the guy who is expected to go No. 1 in 2024. McKenna scored a highlight-reel goal in Canada’s semifinal 5-4 win over Sweden to notch his 16th point of the tournament, passing Tyson Jost and 2024 top prospect Macklin Celebrini for the most points by a Canadian at the IIHF Men’s World Under-18 Championship. Meanwhile, Martone posted two assists against Sweden, drawing even with McKenna while surpassing Celebrini and Jost himself.
The ECHL on Sunday announced the schedule for the Division Semifinals in the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
