Press release provided by University of Wisconsin Athletics:
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women’s hockey goaltender Kristen Campbell has been named the WCHA Goaltender of the Month for the third-consecutive month, the league announced Wednesday.
Campbell enjoyed another stellar month in net for the Badgers, going a perfect 4-0-0 in December to help UW end the first half of its season with a 21-1-0 record and a perfect 12-0-0 ledger in league play.
A native of Brandon, Manitoba, Campbell lead the league in wins (4), shutouts (2), goals-against average (0.50) and save percentage. In addition, she was tied for the NCAA lead in wins and shutouts, while her goals-against average and save percentage marks lead all NCAA netminders that started more than two games in December.
UW is off from competition this weekend before hosting Minnesota State next weekend at LaBahn Arena. Puck drop on Jan. 13 is set for 2 p.m., while the series finale on Jan. 14 will begin at 1 p.m.
