The 2025 AHL Calder Cup Playoffs division semifinals round has started, and the Texas Stars and Grand Rapids Griffins have the privilege of being the second out of eight best-of-5 series across the Atlantic, Central, North and Pacific divisions.

Aside from Syracuse and Rochester, this matchup was already set once the bracket was released as the respective No. 2 and No. 3 seeds.

Grand Rapids will host the first two games of the series, and the Stars will host the remaining games after including a potential fifth game.

This Central Division semifinal series is the only game in the Calder Cup on April 29 at 7:00 p.m. EST.

How Does The AHL Playoff Format Work?

  • All teams playing in the first round are in a best-of-three series.
  • The division semifinals and finals are then decided in a best of five.
  • Finally, the conference and Calder Cup finals will be the best of seven.
