Denver and Western Michigan hockey ended in a double-overtime thriller in the 2025 Frozen Four.

In the first two periods of the game, Western Michigan controlled the flow by firing off 32 shots, completely dominated puck possession and really put the defending champions' back against the wall.

However, like any other champion, Denver Hockey stormed back and showed why it has been successful over the years, scoring two goals in the final period, including a goal from Jared Wright that came with under three minutes remaining.

No team could get the upper hand after one overtime period with multiple close calls from each team. However, 26 seconds into the second overtime, Owen Michaels knocked in the goal and sent the Broncos to the national championship game.

This was the second time this season beating Denver in double overtime for Western Michigan, winning 4-3 in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff Championship.
