Although four NCAA teams will head to St. Louis later this week for the 2025 Men's Frozen Four, the college hockey offseason is already well underway, as the transfer portal has once again engulfed the sport.

The portal remains open until May 13 and currently features over 200 players, including 25 NHL picks. A full list of portal activity is being tracked by college hockey insider Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald and can be found here.

Here’s a look at some of those draft picks and where they will or could potentially spend the 2025-26 season.

Sacha Boisvert, Fr., F, North Dakota – Chicago (2024, 1st)

Boisvert was named the NCHC Rookie of the Year after an impressive season in Grand Forks, but he’ll spend next winter at Boston University. Boisvert – who is listed at 6-foot-2 and 176 pounds – lit the lamp 18 times and racked up 32 points, both of which led UND. He finished the season strong too with nine goals over his final nine games, including a pair of goals at the NCHC Frozen Faceoff. The left-shot center has been the biggest name to enter the portal so far.

Ryan Conmy, So., F, New Hampshire – Los Angeles (2023, 6th)

Conmy has quietly surpassed the 30-point mark in back-to-back seasons and will now search for a new home. He had 14-17-31 as a freshman and followed it up with 15-18-33 this winter, and Conmy’s 33 points were the most on New Hampshire’s roster. He’s always shown the ability to put the puck in the net and has 91 goals over his past four seasons, which has been split between the U18 AAA, USHL and NCAA levels. Conmy currently remains in the portal.

Trevor Hoskin, Fr., F, Niagara – Calgary (2024, 6th)

Hoskin enjoyed a tremendous freshman season as he scored 12 goals and racked up 39 points over 36 games, which was tied for the Niagara team lead and ranked third among NCAA freshmen. Hoskin had two different seven-game point streaks and an additional five-game streak, and the Ontario native was named the AHA Rookie of the Year. Hoskin will play at Merrimack next season.

Tanner Ludtke, So., F, Omaha – Utah (2023, 3rd)

Ludtke was limited to eight games and two points (1-1-2) this season by an upper-body injury, but the Utah pick had a team-leading 28 points in 2023-24 and was an NCHC All-Rookie Team selection. He had a 61-point high school season (2021-22), 66-point USHL season (2022-23) and showed his offensive ability as a freshman, and his skating has only continued to improve. The Elko, Minn. product will now head home, as Ludtke will join the Gophers next season.

Zaccharya Wisdom, So., F, Colorado College – Seattle (2023, 7th)

Wisdom recorded 41 points (18-23-41) over his 69 games in a CC sweater, 21 of which (8-13-21) came this season. The right-shot forward will now head to Kalamazoo and join a Western Michigan program that is currently pursuing its first national championship and shown the ability to develop players, especially up front.

William Whitelaw, So., F, Michigan – Columbus (2023, 3rd)

Wisdom isn’t the only player heading to Kalamazoo either, as Whitelaw will do the same. The third-round pick has 10 and 11 goals in each of his first two college seasons, and his 11 goals were tied for third on Michigan’s roster. Next season will be Whitelaw’s fourth consecutive year with a new team. He spent the 2022-23 campaign in Youngstown, helping the Phantoms win a Clark Cup, and spent his freshman year at Wisconsin before transferring to Michigan. Now Whitelaw is on the move again.
