UConn hockey secured a significant 4-1 victory over Quinnipiac in their first-ever NCAA Hockey Tournament game. 

UConn goalie Callum Tung made 21 saves and allowed only one goal, while players Joey Muldowney, Tristan Fraser, Ethan Gardula, and Hugh Larkin scored goals. 

The win marked a major milestone for UConn, defeating a recent NCAA champion in their first-ever NCAA Hockey Tournament in program history. 

The game was intense, with Quinnipiac pushing hard to close the gap, but UConn's strong defense and Tung's exceptional saves ultimately led to their triumph.

UConn will play the winner of Penn State and Maine.

Where is the 2025 Men’s Frozen Four?

St. Louis will host the 2025 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four at Enterprise Center, the home of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues.

How Does The NCAA Hockey Tournament Work?

  • At the beginning of the tournament, teams will compete across four regional sites in single-elimination games, with four teams standing at the end.
  • There are two games in the regional semifinals between these teams for a chance at the regional finals.
  • The winners of the four sites will then advance to the Frozen Four in St. Louis, MO.
  • From there, the two winners will compete for the grand prize in a national championship.
