BU Hockey Gets 8-3 Comeback Win In NCAA Hockey Tournament Vs. Ohio State

BU hockey secured a decisive 8-3 victory over Ohio State, in the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Hockey Tournament.

Despite a challenging first period, the Terriers rebounded in the second period, scoring five goals to take the lead. 

They maintained their momentum in the third period, adding three more goals to seal the win. Cole Hutson and Jack Hughes both had a goal a piece, and each notched two assists. 

Boston University will advance to the Toledo Regional Final, where they will face the winner of the Cornell/Michigan State matchup.

Boston University gets the win after a rough first period. The Terriers came out in the 2nd period with a different mindset and were able to not only respond to two more goals by Ohio State, but add five on top of that. 

BU heads on to the Toledo Regional Final and will play the winner of Cornell/Michigan State.

Where is the 2025 Men’s Frozen Four?

St. Louis will host the 2025 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four at Enterprise Center, the home of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues.

How Does The NCAA Hockey Tournament Work?

  • At the beginning of the tournament, teams will compete across four regional sites in single-elimination games, with four teams standing at the end.
  • There are two games in the regional semifinals between these teams for a chance at the regional finals.
  • The winners of the four sites will then advance to the Frozen Four in St. Louis, MO.
  • From there, the two winners will compete for the grand prize in a national championship.
