Atlantic Hockey Men's Semis Preview: Can Army Upset Holy Cross?
Mac Gadowsky leads Army against top-seeded Holy Cross while Sacred Heart and Bentley will battle in this weekend's AHA Semifinals

Four teams remain as the Atlantic Hockey playoffs have moved to the Semifinals. Sacred Heart will host Bentley in a best-of-three series while Army will head to Holy Cross for the same.
Both series will be streamed here on FloHockey and will help determine the 2025 AHA Championship Game, which is slated for March 22. Here’s a look at both of this weekend’s series.
Sacred Heart vs. Bentley
Sacred Heart (21-11-5, 16-7-3)
Head Coach: C.J. Marottolo
Point Leader: Felix Trudeau, F, Jr. (15-23-38)
Between The Pipes: Ajeet Gundarah, Fr. (16-5-3, .937 save percentage, 1.85 GAA)
Last Impression: Sacred Heart needed three games but got the upper hand over Air Force, clinching the series with a 4-1 win. Four different Pioneers scored on Sunday and Gundarah made 29 saves, finishing the series with 113 saves on 118 shots. John Jaworski also had four points (2-2-4) in the series. SHU dropped the first two games to Bentley in the season series but earned a 2-0 win back on Feb. 22.
Bentley (20-14-2, 16-9-1)
Head Coach: Andy Jones
Point Leader: Ethan Leyh, F, Gr. (14-20-34)
Between The Pipes: Connor Hasley, Jr. (18-12-2, .923 save percentage, 1.98 GAA)
Last Impression: Bentley made quick work of Canisius in the quarterfinals, earning 4-0 and 2-0 wins. Hasley made 25 saves in the finale and went a perfect 51-for-51 in the series, helping the Falcons advance with ninth and 10th shutouts of the season. Jake Black also scored twice in Game 1 while Leyh and Arlo Merritt did the damage on Saturday.
Holy Cross vs. Army
Holy Cross (22-13-2, 19-5-2)
Head Coach: Bill Riga
Point Leader: Liam McLinskey, F, Sr. (22-25-47)
Between The Pipes: Thomas Gale, Gr. (22-12-2, .927 save percentage, 2.10 GAA)
Last Impression: The top seed got a scare needed three games to oust AIC, and the Crusaders clinched the series with a 4-3 overtime win. However, it’s survive and advance at this time of year, and Holy Cross did exactly that. Michael Abgrall sent the Crusaders to the semifinals with his goal 51 seconds into overtime. McLinskey also netted a pair of power-play tallies in the series.
Army (16-18-2, 14-10-2)
Head Coach: Brian Riley
Point Leader: Mac Gadowsky, D, So. (15-26-41)
Between The Pipes: JJ Cataldo, Fr. (14-12-2, .924 save percentage, 2.33 GAA)
Last Impression: Army defeated Niagara in three games with both of their wins coming in overtime, extending Brian Riley’s tenure behind the bench. Friday’s win required double overtime too before Gadowsky’s game-winner 14:39 into the second extra session. Barron Woodring delivered the OT winner in Game 3. Army went 3-1-2 over its final six regular-season contests too. Gadowsky's 15 goals and 40 points are both tops in the nation among defensemen.
