NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Rankings: Top Teams In Big Games This Week
With conference tournaments beginning and the regular season-ending, here are the rankings before the high-stakes games are played.

With the regular season concluding for most teams and conference tournaments beginning for others, these NCAA Division I Hockey rankings will end for the 2024-2025 regular season before teams clash in the NCAA tournament.
However, that doesn't mean some of the best-ranked matchups aren't already happening, as top teams faced off this past week.
Due to those results, there were also slight shifts in this week's rankings; here is everything you need to know about them.
The BC Eagles Continue Soaring
- In the final game of the regular season, Boston College men's hockey shut out Merrimack in a 6-0 game on its home ice.
- The dominant win surely confirmed that BC would finish the regular season as the top team in the rankings going into the conference championships.
- This week, the Eagles are beginning the Hockey East conference tournament with the quarterfinals on March 15th.
Maine Moves Into The Top Three
- Last week, the Bears were ranked at No. 5 after winning two games over Vermont; in these rankings, Maine has moved up two spots to No. 3.
- The most significant result that allowed it to happen was Minnesota's loss to Notre Dame in the Big Ten Quarterfinals after losing two out of three games on the weekend.
- Maine hopes to avoid a similar upset when it begins the quarterfinals for the Hockey East conference this Saturday, March 15th.
Defending Champions Gearing Up For Another Run
- 2024 National Champions, Denver men's hockey finishes the season at No. 9 and wins over Colorado College to close out the weekend.
- The Pioneers will play Colorado College again in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff quarterfinals, this time in an effort to win their third national championship in four years.
- With another national title, Denver would extend its lead for the most national championships, which they broke the record last year, winning its 10th.
