Friday night's AHL games featured numerous tight contests, including a surprising upset between the affiliates for the New Jersey Devils and the Buffalo Sabres. 

The struggling Utica Comets, last in the North Division, defeated the division-leading Rochester Americans, who boasts the league's best record. After a 2-2 tie in regulation, the game went to a dramatic nine-round shootout. Adam Beckman scored the decisive goal for Utica, and Isaac Poulter sealed the victory with a crucial save.
