The semifinals are set as four teams remain in the Atlantic Hockey Women’s Postseason.

A pair of best-of-three series take place this weekend to decide who will be competing in the AHA Championship Game. Top-seeded Penn State hosts RIT while Mercyhurst hosts Syracuse. Both series run Friday through Sunday and will be streamed here on FloHockey.

The AHA Women’s Championship Game is March 8 and will be hosted by the higher seed.

Here’s a look at both of this weekend’s matchups.

No. 1 Penn State vs. No. 4 RIT

Penn State (28-5-1, 19-1-0)

Head coach: Jeff Kampersal (8th season)
Point Leader: Tessa Janecke, Jr., F (21-27-48)
Between The Pipes: Katie Desa, Jr. (24-5-0, .934 save percentage, 1.40 GA)

Last Impression: Penn State put together the best regular season in AHA women’s history, winning 19 games and running away with its third straight conference title. The Nittany Lions out-scored their opponents 74-24 in conference play, earned 52 of a possible 60 points and their lineup features three of the league’s top four goal scorers. Penn State is the undisputed favorite heading into the postseason.

RIT (16-15-4, 8-10-2)

Head coach: Celeste Brown (5th season)
Point Leader: Addie Alvarez, So., F (6-26-32)

Kailey Favro scored twice and added an assist and Kylie Aquaro also had three points (1-2-3), while goaltender Sarah Coe made 25 saves, earning her fourth shutout of the season. RIT finished the regular season with an overtime loss (2-1) to Penn State and went 0-4-0 against the Nittany Lions this season. RIT also finished the regular season 7-8-0 on the road.
