With the regular NCAA hockey season winding down, fans eagerly await the tournament that will ultimately culminate in teams battling it out for a spot in the Frozen Four.

Obviously, everyone involved looks forward to the NCAA tournament at the start of the season, as it is the only way to add a national championship to their program's history.

Denver is looking to secure a dynasty. They hope to compete in the tournament and win their third national championship in four years.

The Pioneers are second in the NCHC at 20-7-1 and hope to win the conference for that automatic bid.

Boston College, the team Denver beat in last year's national championship, is currently ranked No. 2 in the latest rankings at 26-7-2.

When Does The 2025 NCAA Hockey Tournament Start?

The regionals of the NCAA Tournament will begin on March 27 at 2:00 p.m. ET. They will continue through Sunday, March 30 streaming live on ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPN+.

When Is The NCAA Tournament Selection Show

Fans can catch the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Selection show on Sunday, March 23 at 3:00 p.m. ET.

How Does The NCAA Hockey Tournament Work?

• At the beginning of the tournament, teams will compete across four regional sites in single-elimination games, with four teams standing at the end.
• There are two games in the regional semifinals between these teams for a chance at the regional finals.
• The winners of the four sites will then advance to the Frozen Four in St. Louis, MO.
• From there, the two winners will compete for the grand prize in a national championship.
