As the NCAA hockey regular season is nearing an end, fans anticipate the tournament that will eventually lead to teams colliding in the Frozen Four.

With that said, an essential element to wonder about is the selection show of which teams will punch their in the dance.

The primary reason why the selection show is essential comes from its purpose of announcing the first-round matchups and the entire bracket format. 

Based on the way that the formatting is, it can play a huge role in which teams could potentially face each other later in the tournament, possible upsets, seeding, and lastly, which team will get in and what others will get the short end of the stick.

When Is The NCAA Tournament Selection Show

  • Fans can catch the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Selection show on Sunday, March 23 at 3:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU/ESPN+.

When Does The 2025 NCAA Hockey Tournament Start?

  • The regionals of the NCAA Tournament will begin on March 27-30.

How Does The NCAA Hockey Tournament Work?

  • At the beginning of the tournament, teams will compete across four regional sites in single-elimination games, with four teams standing at the end.
  • There are two games in the regional semifinals between these teams for a chance at the regional finals.
  • The winners of the four sites will then advance to the Frozen Four in St. Louis, MO.
  • From there, the two winners will compete for the grand prize in a national championship.
