As the 2025 World Juniors continues Thursday, Canada and Czechia will face off for a chance at moving into Saturday's semifinals.
Canada's route hasn't been an easy one this year. Latvia handed Canada its first loss of the tournament. Latvia's Eriks Mateiko came up big in extra time, finally getting it past goalie Jack Ivankovic after 16 shootout attempts.

On New Year's Eve, Canada fell to Team USA 4-1, unable to use their physicality to hem in the American offense without drawing penalties.
Despite those losses, Canada's shutout wins over Finland and Germany have left fans with something to look forward to as they look to earn their way back into the gold medal match.
How To Watch Canada World Juniors Hockey vs Czechia
Canada will play Czechia at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, Jan. 2 in the 2025 World Junior Championships quarterfinal.
The 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship will air on TSN and RDS on television in Canada. The tournament will be streamed on TSN+ in Canada, as well.
In the United States, NHL Network will be the television home of the World Junior Championship.
