The Hershey Bears took the lead in the AHL in points (28) on Saturday after starting the last week tied for third. They overtook the Calgary Wranglers and Laval Rocket, who have both had an outstanding season so far.

It's been another week full of AHL hockey action as players work to set themselves apart to earn their ticket to the NHL. Although it is a very long season until we're watching the 2025 Calder Cup Playoffs, AHL teams, rookies, and any and all NHL prospects have been making waves since the season kicked off just a month ago.

This week wasn't as rosy for the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division as the Providence Bruins caught back up with them and Charlotte Checkers passed them in points after taking their last three games to overtime/shootout. Despite only winning one, they still happily took the points from the extra time.

Zooming in on the North, the Utica Comets have doubled their points since our standings update last Monday, adding their first wins this season, over Rochester and Syracuse. Rookie defenseman Seamus Casey leads the team with 13 points—12 of which are assists.

Rockford IceHogs made the biggest moves in the Central, adding five points thanks to two wins and an overtime loss against the Texas Stars in a three-game series.

The Abbotsford Canucks were the story of the week in the Pacific with three wins over five days—two of which were over the Henderson Silver Knights, currently sitting at the bottom of the division.
