The Calgary Flames picked Zayne Parekh in the NHL Draft 2024 with the No. 9 pick on June 28 in Las Vegas at the Sphere. 

The Flames missed an opportunity pick a Calgary legacy player as Jarome Iginla's son, Tij, when No. 6 overall to the Utah Hockey Club.

The Flames still landed a talented defenseman, as Parekh was ranked No. 8 overall on Chris Peters' prospect rankings.

Parekh is Canadian ice hockey defenseman for the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League. Last season, he scored 33 goals and collected a staggering 61 assists.
