Two traditional college hockey powers will square off in the Sioux Falls Regional final as the No. 2 seeded Boston University Hockey team faces the Minnesota Golden Gophers with a trip to the Frozen Four on the line.

The Gophers beat Omaha 3-2 to advance to the regional final, while the Terriers beat RIT 6-3. In the win over RIT, top NHL 2024 Draft prospect Macklin Celebrini scored a goal to push the lead to 4-2 in the second period.

Minnesota, winners of five NCAA National Championships but none since 2003, were the Frozen Four runner-up in 2023, losing to Quinnipiac 3-2 in overtime in the final. To reach that final, the Golden Gophers ended Boston University's season in a 6-2 win in the national semifinals. 

The Terriers are looking for payback this year in the Sioux Falls Regional Final, which is at 6:30 p.m. EST on March 30.

No. 1 Boston College will meet Michigan Tech, while Wisconsin will take on defending champion Quinnipiac.
