Da Beauty League, NHL Stars Return To FloHockey This Summer
Tune in to FloHockey as NHL stars take the ice in Da Beauty League, Minnesota's premier summer hockey league.
Calling all beauties!
We've reached the hottest months of the summer, which can only mean one thing. Da Beauty League is back!
The premier hockey event of the summer will return to Edina's Braemar Arena and to FloHockey starting July 12. With NHL stars, local legends, top collegiate players and many more, Da Beauty League brings some of the world's elite talent to the fans that have been watching them their whole lives.
Set in the State of Hockey, many of the players are native sons, while others have been adopted into the Minnesota hockey family either as current or former members of the Minnesota Wild or current NHLers who spend their summers in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
For the next seven weeks, six teams will do battle in a light-hearted, but competitive league in the hopes of qualifying for Da Beauty League semifinals and a chance to play for the coveted John Scott Cup, named for the former NHL enforcer who might be considered the ultimate beauty after becoming an NHL All-Star Game MVP. Scott is the unofficial commissioner of the league and his silhouette is part of Da Beauty League's logo.
If you've never had a chance to see Da Beauty League, here are some of the key things you need to know.

What Are The Rules In Da Beauty League?
Da Beauty League is an offense-friendly league with goals aplenty. While contact is allowed, these games won't be as hard hitting, but they are competitive and we even saw the rare fight last year as Teddy Blueger and Vinni Lettieri threw down in a spirited summer scrap.
Here are some other key rules to know when watching Da Beauty League...
- Even strength is four-on-four
- Two halves, 23 minutes each
- Za Hot Puck: Each game includes a two-minute segment where goals count for double
- OT Rules:
- OT starts with one player from each team on each blue line going one-on-one with the goalie. Once the player scores, they race back to the bench and the next player comes out. This repeats until one team scores three goals, which wins the game for their team.

The best part about Da Beauty League and one of the key reasons so many players are eager to support the league and play in these games is that proceeds from games benefit a number of Minnesota-based charities.
Among the charities supported:
- United Heroes League: Provides sports equipment, camps, subsidizes association fees and provides tickets to sporting events for children of members of the military.
- Hendrickson Foundation: Seeks to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities, and their families, through hockey
